Amino Acid Complex – The Multitalent for Muscle Growth

Compared to isolated amino acids like BCAAs, Arginine, or Glutamine, an amino acid complex often contains more than 20 different essential and non-essential amino acids. These include Alanine, Glutamine, Tyrosine (non-essential amino acids), and Isoleucine, Leucine, Valine, Lysine (essential amino acids). Arginine and Histidine (semi-essential amino acids) are usually present in a complex too. Amino acids, as building blocks of proteins, are crucial for countless tasks and functions in our body. Especially essential (vital) amino acids, which cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained through diet, are indispensable for human health. Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) play a crucial role in muscle growth. These building blocks particularly benefit athletes focusing on strength and muscle building. The non-essential amino acid Glutamine is also significant for athletes. An adequate level of Glutamine can help prevent muscle breakdown, among other benefits. Additionally, an amino acid complex includes the semi-essential amino acid Arginine. Semi-essential in this context means that the body can produce it only in part and relies on additional dietary intake. Arginine in the body is a precursor to Nitric Oxide (NO) and helps regulate metabolism while also improving blood flow. It's important for ambitious athletes to supply their body with enough amino acids daily. However, due to the enormous increase in demand during intense physical activity, adequate intake (2-3g per kg) is not assured through diet alone. Additional intake through a protein supplement is therefore ideal. Many athletes quickly turn to protein shakes, with Whey Protein aiding immediately after training and Casein Protein ensuring a steady protein supply overnight. However, the downside of protein shakes is that the amino acids must first be transported through the stomach and then into the muscle cells. The amino acids need to be broken down into their individual components before they can act in the body. Here, an amino acid complex can help. The individual protein components are already pre-split, making them immediately available to the body. This makes them a quick helper in need, especially after training when the body's own amino acid pool is depleted.
