What is L-lysine?

Lysine is an essential amino acid for humans; however, it cannot be produced by the body, and needs to be acquired through one’s diet. Lysine is one of the many amino acids which we need for cell growth and tissue repair. Like all amino acids, lysine works as a basic building block for the production of enzymes, hormones and illness-fighting antibodies. Lysine can help to heal fever blisters, herpes simplex and other viral infections.

What benefits does Amino Lysin have for athletes?

Lysine supports effective protein synthesis, which makes it important for muscle growth. As well as this, lysine is also needed for the storage of calcium in the body. 99% of the calcium in the body is found in teeth and bones. Calcium gives them their stability and hardness. But calcium also plays an important role in blood clotting and muscle and nerve stimulation, as well as the activation of certain enzymes and hormones. As well as this, the body can produce L-carnitine from lysine, a transport molecule for fatty acids, without which it would be impossible to degenerate fat. Approx. 10% of the body’s L-carnitine is produced within the body. The rest is consumed as part of one’s diet.
